The brief
The brief was to choose an existing typeface and design specimen cards that capture its character, not just its letterforms. Anona by Joana Correia is an upright italic sans-serif with handwriting-inspired shapes: warm, bouncy, and full of energy. I explored two directions: a bright yellow card that leans into its warmth through floral motifs and curved text, and a stark black card that strips everything back and lets the letterforms speak for themselves. Both were then animated to show how Anona performs in motion.
Animated cards
The yellow card animates Anona's bouncy, playful side with curved text paths, rotating letterforms, and floral motifs. The black card strips it back to pure form, letting the white letterforms move against the dark.
Print layouts
The print layouts show the full composition without the animation: more detail, more text, and the complete typographic system at rest.
