The problem
Independent Filipino-American designers are reimagining traditional clothing and motifs for everyday wear, bridging cultural heritage with contemporary design. But without a shared space, discovery depends entirely on the algorithm and word of mouth, leaving these brands underrepresented and harder to find.
ISA exists to change that. Named after the Filipino word for "one," ISA is a curated digital platform that brings Filipino-American fashion brands into one intentional space, elevating independent designers, honoring cultural roots, and making discovery effortless.
Brand identity
The primary wordmark is hand-drawn, topped by a sun motif that references the eight-rayed sun of the Philippine flag. The secondary oval seal shows "ISA" in both Baybayin and English, which felt important because the whole platform is about holding those two things together: where we come from and where we are now.
Baybayin is a pre-colonial Filipino script that almost disappeared under colonization and is only recently making a comeback in Filipino culture. It felt right to include it here because that's exactly what the designers on the platform are doing too, taking something rooted in the past and bringing it forward.
Website
The ISA website isn't just a place to shop. It's a space to learn, explore, and actually connect with Filipino-American fashion.
A lot of the site is built around being intentional about culture. There are sections dedicated to clothing inspired by the Barong Tagalog, pieces that incorporate Baybayin script, and traditional Filipino clothing alongside contemporary designers, because that's still such an important part of Filipino culture and it deserves its own space.
Each brand on the platform gets a dedicated page where they can share their story and mission. The Abakada page, for example, talks about who they are, what they make, and what inspires them culturally. It felt important for the brands to have a voice, not just a product listing.
There's also a page about the history of Filipino-American fashion, giving people context for the designers they're discovering and the larger movement ISA is part of.
Packaging
The packaging system includes a branded kraft mailer box with a green interior (one of ISA's accent colors), a white poly mailer with an oversized wordmark, and die-cut stickers of both logos, all designed to create a memorable unboxing experience that carries the ISA brand from screen to doorstep.
Thank you cards
Each order includes a branded thank you card tucked inside the packaging, available in the red and green colorways, with the ISA wordmark on the front and a bilingual message in English and Tagalog on the back.
